An Audit of Mental Health Diagnoses in General Practice

Clinical audits are an option for MBA and RACGP CPD requirements. They provide a valuable tool to examine practice and self-reflect. GPs are often the first point of contact for patients experiencing mental health problems, and thorough assessment is vital in ensuring appropriate care. This online audit sees GPs examine the use of DSM-V criterion to establish diagnosis, their contribution to formulation and treatment planning. This process will help identify opportunities for change in practice, with the aim of improved health outcomes.
