GPs and Nurses working in general practice, Pharmacists and local council nurses in the Adelaide metropolitan area are invited to attend the 2022 influenza season update in this situation where social mixing and social contact return towards pre-pandemic norms, it is expected that 2022 flu season will be the first time in Australia when seasonal influenza virus (and other respiratory viruses) will co-circulate alongside COVID 19. The need for high flu vaccination uptake in 2022 is paramount.

Angela Newbound Consultancy

Angela Newbound is the SA PHN Immunisation Coordinator based at the Adelaide PHN. Angela is a Registered Nurse who has specialised in the field of immunisation for the past 21 years. She delivers immunisation support and education to a wide range of health providers across South Australia and has contributed to the development of immunisation resources to assist providers with challenging aspects of the immunisation program. Angela is a member of the Immunisation Coalition and has provided clinical guidance throughout the development of the PneumoSmart Vaccination tool.

Dr Rosanne Skalicky

Rural Generalist in Critical Care, Royal Flying Doctors SA

Dr Skalicky (often referred to as ‘Dr Rose’), is a senior Emergency Physician with extensive national and international experience. Having worked as an emergency physician in Tasmania, Queensland, and South Australia (RAH), Dr Rose headed overseas in 2009. With a passion for equitable access to healthcare and international development in EM, Dr Rose has spent the last decade working overseas in a fulltime capacity – remote NW Tanzania and most recently in Myanmar. In Myanmar, Dr Rose worked under the Ministry of Health developing acute emergency services and training nationally, which included a full-time teaching and clinical load. Having returned to Australia in early 2021 Dr Rose is currently employed by the RFDS as a Rural Generalist in Critical Care, working primarily out of Port Augusta.

Dr Roses’ professional interests include:

·Improving equity in health access
·Health care development of EM in low-middle income countries
·Capacity building of Health staff

When not at work Dr Rose enjoys caring for her family, reading, craft, and obviously seeing new places, and engaging with people from different cultures.
